These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Numa mobile application ("App"), operated by NUMA LABS LTD, a company incorporated in England and Wales (Company No: 17134054) ("we", "us", "our", or "Numa").
By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and NUMA LABS LTD under English law.
Numa is a numerology-based self-reflection and guidance application. The App provides personalised readings, insights, and perspectives derived from numerological systems, powered by artificial intelligence.
Important: All content generated by Numa, including numerological readings, insights, timing guidance, and any other output, is provided strictly for entertainment, self-reflection, and informational purposes only. Nothing in the App constitutes professional advice of any kind, including but not limited to financial, legal, medical, psychological, or therapeutic advice.
You must be at least 16 years of age to use Numa. By using the App, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement. Age is verified by self-declaration at account registration. If you are under 16, you must not use the App.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts where we have reasonable grounds to believe the user does not meet the eligibility requirements.
To access certain features of the App, you must create an account. You agree to:
We reserve the right to refuse registration or terminate accounts at our sole discretion, including where we suspect fraud, misuse, or violation of these Terms.
Numa provides numerological interpretations generated by artificial intelligence. You acknowledge and agree that:
No reliance: You acknowledge that you will not rely on Numa's output for any significant life decision and that any such reliance is entirely at your own risk.
You agree not to use the App to:
We reserve the right to investigate and take appropriate action, including suspension or termination of your account and referral to law enforcement, in response to prohibited conduct.
6.1 Our Intellectual Property
All content, features, design, software, and materials within the App, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, UI layouts, and AI-generated outputs, are owned by or licensed to NUMA LABS LTD. They are protected by copyright, trade mark, and other intellectual property laws of England and Wales under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 (CDPA) and applicable international treaties.
You are granted a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms. You acquire no ownership rights by using the App.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, sublicense, or create derivative works from any part of the App without our prior written consent.
6.2 Nature of Numerological Content — No Third-Party Copyright Infringement
Numa is built on the Pythagorean numerological system, an ancient symbolic framework that has existed for centuries and is entirely within the public domain. The underlying principles, calculation methods, number-to-letter mappings, and numerical archetypes (such as Life Path, Expression Number, and Personal Year) are not owned by any individual, company, or application. They constitute common knowledge, traditional lore, and mathematical fact, none of which is capable of copyright protection under English law or any other jurisdiction.
Under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 and the long-established principle of the idea/expression dichotomy — affirmed by English courts including Donoghue v Allied Newspapers [1938] and Designers Guild v Russell Williams [2001] — copyright protects only the specific, original expression of an idea, never the idea, concept, system, method, or fact itself. The same legal principle applies in all major jurisdictions, including US law under Feist Publications v Rural Telephone Service Co. (1991) and the EU Software Directive as retained in UK law.
Consequently, no third party holds, or can hold, any proprietary right over: the Pythagorean numerological system or any variant of it; the concept of a Life Path, Personal Year, or any other numerological calculation; the general interpretive meanings associated with numbers 1 through 9, or master numbers 11, 22, and 33; the structure, framework, or methodology of a personalised numerological reading; or the concept of an AI-powered numerology application.
Numa's specific written interpretations, character descriptions, reading narratives, UI design, visual language, and brand voice are original works authored by NUMA LABS LTD and protected accordingly. We have not reproduced, adapted, or derived our content from any competitor's proprietary text, systems, source code, or creative output. Our content was independently created.
Any claim of copyright infringement in respect of numerological concepts, systems, calculations, or general interpretive frameworks would be legally unfounded under the CDPA 1988 and established English and international intellectual property law. We assert this position clearly and reserve the right to defend it robustly.
6.3 Brand Identity and Unregistered Rights
The name Numa, associated logos, and distinctive brand elements are the trading names and unregistered intellectual property of NUMA LABS LTD, protected under the common law tort of passing off. Nothing in the App grants any licence to use our brand identity or trading names. Similarly, we do not use, reference, or trade on the trade marks, branding, or brand identity of any third party.
The App may integrate with or rely on third-party services, including but not limited to cloud infrastructure, AI providers, and analytics tools. These third parties have their own terms of service and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices or content of third-party services.
Links to third-party websites or services within the App do not constitute our endorsement of those services.
8.1 Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, NUMA LABS LTD disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that: (a) the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure; (b) any defects will be corrected; (c) the App or the servers that make it available are free of viruses or harmful components; or (d) any content is accurate, complete, or reliable.
8.2 Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, NUMA LABS LTD, its directors, officers, employees, affiliates, agents, contractors, and licensors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages arising from your use of or inability to use the App, regardless of whether we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total aggregate liability to you in connection with these Terms or your use of the App shall not exceed the greater of: (a) the total fees you have paid to us in the twelve months preceding the claim; or (b) £50.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability for: (a) death or personal injury caused by our negligence; (b) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; (c) any matter that cannot be excluded or limited by law under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or other applicable UK consumer protection legislation.
8.3 Consumer Rights
If you are a consumer (as defined under the Consumer Rights Act 2015), nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights. You are entitled to services performed with reasonable care and skill. Where we fail to do so, you may be entitled to a repeat performance or a price reduction.
We take the wellbeing of our users seriously. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, suicidal ideation, or thoughts of harming yourself or others, please do not rely on Numa. Seek immediate support from the appropriate services.
In the UK: Samaritans — 116 123 (free, 24/7). Crisis text line — text SHOUT to 85258. NHS Emergency — 999 or 111. In the EU, contact your national emergency number or mental health helpline.
If our AI detects signs of acute distress, it will direct you to appropriate support and will not attempt to address a crisis through numerological framing.
Certain features of Numa may be offered on a subscription basis. Subscription terms, pricing, and renewal conditions will be displayed to you clearly before purchase. By subscribing, you authorise us to charge the stated fee on the relevant billing cycle.
Subscriptions purchased through the Apple App Store are subject to Apple's payment terms and refund policies. To request a refund for an in-app purchase, you must contact Apple directly through reportaproblem.apple.com.
We reserve the right to modify pricing with reasonable notice. Continued use after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new price.
You may delete your account at any time from within the App's settings. Upon account deletion, we will permanently delete all personal data associated with your account from our systems, subject to any data we are required to retain by law.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account without notice if you breach these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or if we are required to do so by law.
Upon termination, your licence to use the App ceases immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) will continue to apply.
We may update, modify, suspend, or discontinue the App or any part of it at any time, with or without notice. We are not liable to you or any third party for any such modification, suspension, or discontinuation.
We may revise these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via the App or by email. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the App.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
If you are a consumer resident in another jurisdiction within the UK or EU, you may also have the right to bring proceedings in the courts of the country in which you are resident.
Before initiating formal proceedings, we encourage you to contact us at hello@numa-app.co to seek an informal resolution.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and NUMA LABS LTD in relation to the App and supersede all prior agreements.
You may not assign your rights under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations under these Terms without restriction.
